Editorial Policy
- The journal is an interdisciplinary journal devoted to Canadian Studies. It is published annually. All statements and opinions contained in the journal are the responsibility of the individual contributors.
- Only scholarly articles and research papers will be considered for publication in the journal. Book reviews and short research notes will not be considered.
- Typescripts should be submitted in a format readable by Microsoft Word™ (up to and including the Office 2007 release), and with a page size of A4. A cover page should contain only the title thereby facilitating anonymous reviewing by two independent assessors. An abstract, not exceeding 150 words, should accompany the typescript.
- Ideally, essential notes should be numbered in the text and grouped together at the end of the article.
- Diagrams and figures, if they are considered essential, should be clearly related to the section of the text to which they refer. The original diagrams and figures should be submitted as separate attachments regardless of whether they are embedded within the document of the main article.
- References in the text should be cited in accordance with a note-referencing or author-date system, as prescribed either by The Chicago Manual of Style or by the MHRA Style Guide. Articles using a note-reference system should not append a bibliography.
- Contributions and queries should be sent to the editor: Professor Itesh Sachdev, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square, London WC1H OXG. Email: i.sachdev@soas.ac.uk
Guest Editorships
Historically volumes of the LJCS are dedicated to a thematic issue, comprise articles originally given as papers to an LCCS conference, and are edited under the stewardship of a guest editor. If you would like to propose an issue in Canadian Studies for a conference and edit a related LJCS volume, please feel free to contact us with your proposal. If you are currently guest-editing a volume or will be in the near future, we have written a few guidelines to help you through the process and which are available for download.
