Call for Papers
We are pleased to announce the first bi-national UK-Italy Canadian Studies conference. Proposals for papers and panels are invited from any area of enquiry (single disciplinary or multidisciplinary) on the theme of ‘Boundaries, Passages & Sanctuaries’. The aim of this international conference is to focus on Canada, either on its own or in a comparative context, in order to explore the nature and complexity of topics related to crossing boundaries, what is transported, what is left behind, how the ‘new’ place does or does not become a haven, what is the relationship to place(s) of origin, and what the future holds. The conference aims to draw together historical, political, social, environmental, cultural, individual and other factors in lively, multi- and inter-disciplinary debate and discussion.
