31st Annual Conference

British Association for Canadian Studies

New Hall, University of Cambridge, UK

19 - 21 April 2006

The British Association for Canadian Studies looks forward to welcoming you to its 31st annual conference at New Hall, University of Cambridge. Founded in 1954, the College is set in its own informal gardens, 10 minutes' walk from the city centre, and offers a range of comfortable accommodation in either ensuite or standard rooms. New Hall is home to the largest collection in Europe of contemporary works by women artists, many of which are on display.

Keynote speakers include Professor Lord Bhikhu Parekh, Centennial Professor in the Centre for the Study of Global Governance at the LSE and emeritus professor of political theory at the University of Hull; Professor Marie McAndrew (Department of Administration and Educational Foundations at the University of Montreal); and film-maker Alanis Obomsawin.

The organisers would like to thank Foreign Affairs Canada, the Canadian High Commission, the Quebec Government Office in London and the Eccles Centre at the British Library for their generous support.
