Announcement: Canada-Europe Awards PDF Print E-mail
(formerly known as Institutional Research Program)

It has just been announced by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada that this program will be offered this year 2006-07 - see full details on the ICCS website. It is recognised that this is short notice, and that it does not allow time for the research to be carried out before the end of the financial year, so successful applicants will receive their full grant before 31 March 2007, even though research will be carried out after that date. The deadline for applications is 23 November 2006. Application forms may be downloaded from the website above, and should be submitted directly to the ICCS in Ottawa (address on the website), and copied to the Canadian High Commission in London (Vivien Hughes, Canadian Studies Projects Officer, Academic Relations Unit, Canadian High Commission, Canada House, Trafalgar Square, London SW1Y 5BJ).

In summary, the Canada-Europe Awards are designed to support a team normally comprised of at least three academics to undertake short-term research, including collaborative research, contributing to the understanding of bilateral and multi-lateral relations between Canada and the countries of Europe. The objective of the program is to promote knowledge and understanding of Canada by the publication outside of Canada of important scholarly works (e.g. books or monograph). The award will assist with the direct costs related to the research. The maximum amount of any award will be Cdn$12,000.
